The panelists discuss the 17 years of data available from IRAD and the future of the registry.
There is some suggestion that leaving the false lumen intact i.e. treating the ascending aorta only in type A, can have poorer long term outcomes. Is there evidence from IRAD that in the long term, treatment of the dissection going beyond the ascending aorta at the initial surgery offers an improved long term result? With newer techniques (branched grafts etc) the more complex operations can be performed more easily. Does IRAD collect data on the newer techniques?
