About
Have been a Registered Nurse since June, 1976. Started working in Critical Care in 1978. Developed a passion for cardiac surgery patients while pursuing MSN degree from the University of Virginia. After completion, worked at the bedside recovering cardiac surgery patients in a CVICU. Functioned as charge nurse, mentor from 2000-2016. Started as an educator in August, 2019. Presently pursuing a DNP in Nurse Education while employed as a Clinical Instructor with Ballad Health System. Dual Appointment as Instructor with ETSU. Also Adjunct Clinical Instructor with Virginia Highlands Community College, Abingdon, VA. Also volunteer with the SW VA Medical Reserve Corp, part of the VA Department of Health. Also work PRN as a Substitute Nurse for the Washington County VA School System.
Research
Currently developing a Scholarly Research Project for completion of the DNP in Nurse Education at Regis College. Expected completion is August, 2024
