Other Interests
My primary clinical interest is the use of Veno-Veno ECMO in the treatment of severe ARDS in adult patients, and the lung rest strategies utilized while on extracorporeal support. I am an ECMO Specialist and Extracorporeal Research Assistant for the University of Virginia Health System, and I am certified in the performance of EVLP via the ExVIVO perfusion system. Under the department of TCV surgery I have collaborated on and coauthored several porcine experiments involving; EVLP, isolated lung perfusion, direct targeted lung therapies, experimental lung injury, treatment of reperfusion injury, and ECMO.
