About
Edilin obtained her medical degree from O&M Medical School at Universidad Dominicana O&M in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is currently working at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center under the mentorship of Ammara A. Watkins, MD, MPH, Dr. Elliot Servais, MD, and Cameron Stock, MD. Her research focuses on detecting early stage lung cancer and addressing healthcare and workforce disparities in CT surgery. Edilin aspires to become an Academic Surgeon, then eventually sub-specializing in Cardiothoracic in the Greater Boston area.
Research
I have been the co-principal of research focusing on health-related challenges and opportunities faced by pregnant teenagers and adolescent mothers, vector-borne disease awareness, academia-community partnership and educational environment in higher education. Among my scientific interests has been the development of early detection of lung cancer with patients of racial and socioeconomic disparities. I have been practicing this work for the past seven years.
