Professor Nasser Altorki and his colleagues recently released the results of the landmark thoracic surgery trial, CALGB 140503. The randomized trial studied the different methods of thoracic surgery and how they perform in treating patients with stage IA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Ultimately, the trial results revealed that, with better surgical methods and technologies, sublobar resection may challenge the preexisting standard of lobar resection procedures in treating NSCLC.
CTSNet associate editors Joel Dunning and Mara Antonoff sat down with Dr. Altorki to discuss the trial and its implications for the thoracic specialty. Watch the interview below to learn more.

Congratulations to Dr Altorki and his team for completing this landmark trial, and to Joel, Mara and the CTSnet team for this presentation. I learned a lot.
