Sternal dehiscence without mediastinitis is a rare and relatively benign complication after cardiac surgery. However, it may cause severe discomfort for a patient. Traditional approaches include the Robicsek technique and its modifications, which require advanced dissection of the posterior surface of the sternum (1,2). In this video, the authors present a less invasive approach for chronic partial sternal separation using titanium implants.
