This patient underwent repair of Tetralogy of Fallot and more recently had enlargement of his aortic root with moderate-to-severe aortic insufficiency. Worsening of left ventricular function with an ejection fraction of 40% was observed on follow-up echocardiograms, and moderate-to-severe aortic valve regurgitation was also noted. A computed tomography and MRI were performed to assess the ascending aorta and aortic root, as well as left and right ventricular function. The left ventricular function was moderately depressed and the aortic root was measured at 5.7 cm. A modified Bentall-De Bono procedure was performed, using a composite graft with an aortic mechanical valve. The patient recovered well and was discharged after the sixth postoperative day.

I would like to congratulate our collegues for their excellent surgical performance. However this is not a standard Bentall-De Bono technique but a modified Bentall with the exclusion technique of Koutsoukos and the Carell button modification. The classic/standard Bentall is an inclusion technique without buttons.
I agree with Dr. Panagiotou, was about to write the same comment. It is vital that the correct name of the procedure be used as dealing with a complication from a classic Bentall-DeBono is different than dealing with one from a modified version. I refer to the procedure shown simply as a root replacement with a composite valved-graft.
This video is very illustrative for young surgeons, and a quick tool for surgeons who rarely do this procedure. It is a good video that shows a great surgeries
