Welcome to this two-part CTSNet series "What Can Adult and Congenital Surgeons Learn From One Another–Parts I and II."
CTSNet organized two roundtables featuring several giants in the field of adult and cardiac heart surgery to provide thought-provoking discussions on what adult and congenital surgeons can learn from one another within mitral valve and tricuspid valve surgeries. Part 1 features Dr. Elizabeth Stephens, a congenital cardiac surgeon at Mayo Clinic, moderating a discussion on mitral valve surgery with panelists Tirone David of Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Canada; Emile Bacha of Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork (CHONY)/Columbia University; and Joe Dearani, both congenital and adult cardiac surgeon, past chair of Cardiac Surgery and current director of pediatric and congenital heart surgery at Mayo Clinic. Part II features Dr. Stephens moderating a discussion on tricuspid valve surgery and joined again by Joseph Dearani and also inviting Patrick McCarthy, adult cardiac surgeon, executive director of the Bluhm CV Institute at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, to join the discussion.
